The plotline of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗺 rarely allowed my mind a moment of rest, so to speak. Alongside Nika I walked into an original, interesting fantasy world of magic, new gods and religion. Nika is sent on a dangerous quest, and each page I turned brought out something captivating. He bonds with a talking cat, he finds love with Freyne, he makes new friends and enemies.

A prophesy must be fulfilled and it was awesome to see it unfold. While the connection between Nika and Freyne’s deepens, each step of their journey is fraught with perils, lies and life altering secrets. I enjoyed meeting new allies and the slow unraveling of clues, up until the unexpected finale.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗺 is a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to see on what amazing adventure the next installment will take me on.

Well paced filled with likeable characters and a solid romance, a promising start to the series. However, I did feel there needed to be some fleshing out done of some of the characters and their motives.

There’s some angst between Nika and Freyne, but it was resolved quite quickly. Seemed to be heading into Romeo and Juliet territory, but didn’t quite get there. I liked Nika, despite his difficult start to life, he turned out to be noble and self sacrificing.

In short this is a very solid start to what looks like it will be a decent series. 3 and a half stars.

I received an ARC of this book, which in no way influenced my opinion.

Nika and Freyne is a slow burn story with a convoluted plot line that I found quite intriguing.
I enjoyed the world building but felt that some of the situations were solved pretty simplisticly. The conclusion left plenty of room for further books which I’m looking forward to reading.Helpful

This was everything I love about a good fantasy, a great cast of characters on a quest and magic. It did take me a bit to really get into the story but once I did I couldn’t put it down and now I absolutely cannot wait to read the next book in the series. All in all a very enjoyable read.
